The conference was opened by Frank Nweke Jnr from the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (Nigeria’s most influential private sector-led economic think tank and advocacy group), who presented about Nigeria being an emerging frontier of investment in Africa. Oscar Onyema, CEO of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, spoke about the giant strides being recorded in the Nigerian Capital Market and the increasing investment prospects.
MI was pleased to welcome Fola Kudehinbu and Dr Solomon Fubara from the African & Caribbean Chamber of Commerce & Enterprise and Femi Niyi from Courteville who led an insightful session into the trends and opportunities for African businesses working internationally.
MI delegates, Cynthia Mbili (South Africa), Paul Wan (Singapore), Albert Folorunsho (Nigeria) and Howard Lewis (United Kingdom) also share their knowledge.
An interactive session led by Nonkululeko Gobodo (Chair of MIA) and Liza Robbins (CEO of MI) focused on the African strategic plan allowing member firms to discuss how to work together to drive the region forward.
As well as the varied professional sessions, delegates enjoyed a fun social programme including a networking day at the Lekki Peninsula viewing the huge collection of African artwork at the Nike Art Gallery, haggling at a traditional craft market and experiencing some of Africa’s wildlife at the Lekki Conservation Centre.
The conference ended with a celebratory anniversary gala night hosted by Pedabo. Many of Pedabo’s clients, business contacts and colleagues attended and guests were treated to dance performances, live music, prizes and lots of dancing!
MI would like to thank Pedabo for their excellent support and assistance with the organisation of the conference and to congratulate the firm on their 15 year anniversary!
