The theme of the conference was “Opportunities Beyond Borders” which was chosen to reflect members’ increasing cross-border activity.
Delegates enjoyed a line up of high profile speakers including Roberto F. de Ocampo, Former Secretary of Finance (Republic of Philippines), Antonieta Fortuna-Ibe, Ma. Mignon Ramos, Roadmaps and Beyond, Inc. and a panel presentation of regional opportunities. The Common Interest Groups (CIGs) featured excellent presentations on international auditing standards, IT audits, transfer pricing, advising clients in the current economic climate, compelling valuation reports and mergers and acquisitions.
The event was hosted by MIAP’s longstanding member firm Villaruz, Villaruz & Co. CPAs who put together a high quality programme of social and professional events. The firm also wowed fellow delegates with an incredibly impressive dance display with all of their staff participating!
MIAP and MIA members welcomed delegates from other regions, including Canada, Costa Rica, France, United Kingdom and the USA as well as a number of potential member firms.
The joint 2011 MIAP and MI Annual Conference will take place in Singapore on 7-9 October to coincide with Paul Wan & Co.’s 25th anniversary celebrations. An event not to be missed!
